The Gamecock is a symbol of freedom

I have read that the the gamecock lost by a single vote to the bald eagle of becoming the national symbol of the United States. As a breeder of game fowl I understand why men from the beginning years of this country would make such a nomination. The courage of these fighting birds has amazed those who have been lucky enough to witness them for thousands of years. These birds with the fighting instinct are to me and many others one of the hidden treasures of this world. A great fighter that overcomes all adversity to become a champion is always respected and admired. The stubbornness and tenacity of these game fowl where the same quality’s needed in men for 13 colonies to gain Independence from tyranny. So I am saddened that the eagle prevailed when the votes were counted. I can only guess that the room was populated by an urban majority.

No one can look at a rooster and know that you are looking at a true gamecock without out first seeing that rooster in physical combat with another of his kind in a fight to the death. Only a real test that pushes him to the edge of death will you know if he is “game” or not. Only men that understand the Tue nature of game fowl can comprehend this fact. Nothing will stop or even slow down the real gamecock when he is trying to kill his opponent. His will to win the fight overcomes his very will to survive. Gameness is not the so called “pecking order” refereed to to by poultry scientist in the Universities of this country, but a fighting instinct that is programmed inside of the game roosters brain and was put there by selecting the most courages and deep game individuals by carefully breeders for centuries. Genetic code in all life forms is always changing always experimenting with changes in species and adapting to the world around it. Only by constantly testing the gamecock every generation can breeders maintain the courage that makes a gamecock “game”.

To those ignorant of fighting cocks this all sounds like red neck fantasy but it is not. Most people can only depend on flawed imagination to visualize what a cockfight must be like and the majority of the population could care less, but to the lucky ones that get to know the truth it is a life moving experience. You can’t watch a video on you tube or television and get a feel for what is happening. Most of these videos focus on exited crowds of people many of them only interested in gambling on the outcome of the contest. To the true game fowl breeder the fight or test is only part of his complete breeding program, but is is of most importance to him and he will be studying every move much like a chess player. There are many men around the world that have devoted a good part of there lives trying to breed the perfect strain of cocks and when master breeders come together to test their particular theories it is a site to behold.

The United States until just recently has been the home of the greatest game fowl breeders in the world. American fighting cocks have been prized above all others for the last 100 years. American breeders have shipped more game fowl to more places than the rest of the world combined. Free enterprise and fierce competition among top breeders has produced a Superior gamecock and those birds are in big demand from others that want to include them in their own breeding programs. This genetic pool has even been recognized by breeders of commercial chickens and specimens have been used to replace genes that have been lost in modern broilers and egg laying chickens.

Unfortunately the American gamecock is now in a state of decline and like many US industries will soon become second best or even extinct. Our lawmakers seam only to listen to those that poses the most influence usually in the form of a large bank account and policy changes that criminalize necessary testing of game fowl has created this problem.

Almost every industry in the united states is now controlled by foreign interest. But while many American companies fade away or become “brand names” the military industrial complex grows at an alarming pace. Americans pretend and believe that we are still a free people while spreading “democracy” with our military might. It is Ironic that cockfighting was restored to the Afghan people when they were liberated from the Tali ban.

The INTERNET has began a new freedom movement for ordinary men with ordinary means and I believe is the only hope of returning freedom to this country. Real freedom to own property to expect a sound money system where hard work and ambition can achieve your dreams, were the pursuit of happiness is a real guarantee.

Free men will always respect the courage of the gamecock and the game cock can only live among free men. If freedom ever comes back to this country I hope that wise men have safely hidden away their best game fowl will once again display these great birds for the world to see.

Save the Gamecock

PROTECTING YOUR GAMEFOWL FARM part one

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 22, 2012

1) Put up no trespassing signs

  • Post “No Trespassing” signs along property lines and maintain them perpetually.  Too often, signs are posted and forgotten: they deteriorate, fall down, or are removed or knocked down by vandals.  So, in addition to posting signs in the first place, follow through by maintaining them.
  • Signs announcing the presence of alarms, detectors, or surveillance devices can be helpful in deterring crimes.
  • Learn the laws in your State about no trespassing signs and have some with the codes on them for your main entrances, drive ways and roads
  • Be sure to have who can cross the no trespassing sigh like Fire and Medical Emergency.  A good example is narlo.org/sign

2) Monitor your property

  • If you have people come on your property, make sure you have witness, or tape so you can protect yourself from being assaulted by the government or HSUS/PETA
  • Do not let anyone on your property unless you invite him or her there
  • Ensure out-houses, gate and sheds are secure and locked at all times.
  • Dogs a very good at keep a eye on things and warning you something is wrong
  • Security Cameras: The same as alarm systems, it can be a deer cam to high dollar Surveillance systems.
  • Alarm system: these can be anything from cans on a string to high dollar systems its up to you and your budget.
  • Tell trusted neighbors when you are going to be away from your property.  Suggest they do the same.
  • Don’t have set times when you leave your property, e.g. to go to town
  • Make sure that there are no ‘hiding places’ in your yard for any would-be burglar.
  • Add gravel paths to create a noise when someone approaches your property.

3) Fencing your property

  • Build a nice strong Fence.
  • Have a metal fence and gate around your property.  In addition to being tougher than wooden ones, metal gates, and fences are likely to make much more sound when opened or climbed over, thereby alerting you to the presence of an intruder on your property.
  • Plant prickly shrubs and bushes next to your walls or fences will deter most criminals from climbing over.

4) Lighting your property

  • Invest in brighter outside lighting.  Ensure that the outside of your home is illuminated properly.  Dark shadows make for excellent covers for thieves, which is why you should have adequate lighting outside your home.  Remember to turn on the lights after nightfall, or better yet, have them on an automatic timer.
  • If possible, try to use motion detector lights instead of the standard lights.  In addition to providing the required illumination, these lights can also keep track of unwanted movement.
  • Buy and install solar-powered motion sensors with lights at your property line.  This is your first line of defense.  Mount them so that they come on shining toward your dwelling and not into the neighbor’s house.  Adjust the sensors so they come on only when necessary.
  • Purchase the brightest, most powerful wattage/lumens available.  You want a bright light to see your intruder clearly.  Make sure the light paths intersect, so there are no huge areas left in the dark when they come on.
  •  Check all the outdoor lights periodically to see that no bulbs or tubes are broken.  If you do find any, replace them immediately.

5) Legal stuff I found (I am not a lawyers if you need legal advice please contact a Lawyer)

  • Talk to a lawyer in you area find out about intent laws, County codes, etc.
  • Do not answer questions by Law enforcement; tell them to talk to your lawyer.  remain silent
  • Do not consent to a search by Law enforcement,
  • Never invite Law Enforcement into your house, garage, outbuildings, or onto your property.  Make sure your property is Fenced, Gates LOCKED, and with notrespassing signs up.  police at my door what should I do
  • Do not let hsus, aspca, or peta on your property
  • Watch what you say to strangers
  • Learn all you can about your rights as a property owner or renter
  • Protest all property rights violation

These are just some things I found on line that might help protect you and your farm.  Please feel free to add to these we need all the help we can get. Remember we have satellites, drones, and the animal rights trying to make money and get in the news working against us.   This is a very important subject that needs to be talked about a lot more.

A Cockfighting Song—-The Holbeck Moor Cockfight

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 18, 2012

LISTEN TO SONG

Lyrics

Come all you cockers far and near
An’ I’ll tell you of a cockfeight, when and where,
On ’Olbeck Moor as I’ve ’eard say,
Between the black and the bonny grey.
2
Now the first to come in were the Owdham lads,
They came with all the brass they had.
The reason was I ’eard ’em say,
Ahr black’s too big for the bonny grey.
3
So it’s into t’ pub to teck a sup,
Yon cockfeight it was soon made up.
For twenty pounds them birds will play,
The charcoal black and the bonny grey.
4
The Owdham lads stood shoutin’ around,
‘I’ll lay thee a quid to ’alf a crown,
If ahr black cock ’e gets fair play
’E’ll meck mincemeat out o’ thy bonny grey.’
5
So the cocks they at it an’ t’ grey got tossed;
Owdham lads said, ‘By, tha’s lost!’
Us ’Olbeck lads we tonned quite pale,
An’ we wished we’d fought for a barrel of ale.
6
Then the cocks they at it one two three,
The charcoal black got stuck in t’ ee.
’E picked ’im up but ’e wadn’t play,
An’ the fight it went to ahr bonny grey.
7
With silver breast an’ silver wings
’E’s fit to feight i’ front o’ kings.
We picked ’im up with a hip ’ooray,
An’ we carried off ahr bonny grey.

Another case of Nazi Animal Protectionism

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 18, 2012

Ontario Police and the Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA conducted a raid on the private property of another Gamefowl breeding Farm.  It looks like another case of the destruction of our agriculture industry, and our cultural and rural lifestyles by the police state our Country has become.  After reading the reports, we still do not know if they were caught fighting birds or not, all the reports say is alleged, led to believe, telltale signs of cockfighting, the facts would be nice.

“We had found paraphernalia which led us to believe there was a fight in progress and there were wagers,” Lemus said.  http://www.sbsun.com

“Police on Monday said they have busted an alleged cockfighting operation on a 15-acre complex in Ontario that involved about 1,000 birds.”

“Many of the birds at the complex on Cucamonga Drive, just south of the Pomona Freeway, were tied up, and most had their combs and waddles cut off and their spurs removed, authorities said.  Experts say those are telltale signs of cockfighting preparations”.  nbclosangeles.com

Experts say those are telltale signs of cockfighting preparations, This is also mandatory at Poultry shows if you show old English gamefowl or American Gamefowl.  It is also good idea to cut the spurs to keep the roosters for hurting the hens during mating and if left long the spur can grow enough to cut the rooster’s  legs.  Cutting the comb helps stop frostbite.

“Authorities rescue over 1,000 roosters”, “The birds will likely be euthanized” can you believe they said this in the same nydailynews.com article.  To Rescue something and then kill it is not rescuing.  If you are going to steal a man’s private property before there is a trial then you feed it and take care of it or does the Humane Society have a different definition of RESCUE.

It is time in America for the Gamefowl breeders to stand up and fight, get a lawyer and have these charges fought INDIVIDUALLY and if you are found not guilty SUE.

Police Serve Search Warrant on Alleged Cock-Fighting Operation

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 10, 2012

The state police, the district attorney’s office, the Humane Society of the United States, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of the Inspector General, and the Washington County Animal Response, raided and ripped apart the life of Thomas MacFann of West Pike Run Township, Washington Co. PA for an Alleged Cock-Fighting Operation.  No evidence was found at the farm of cockfighting taking place, but all his Gamefowl was taken and with the track record of the Humane Society of the United States will most likely be Killed.

According to reports their evidence of a cockfighting operation was

A rooster yard

pickle barrels

3-foot-high white canvas teepees

birds tethered to pickle barrels

birds tethered to 3-foot-high white canvas teepees

blades that could be attached to the birds’ talons for fighting, but wasn’t

Now here comes the kicker. The Humane Society of the United States wants state legislators to swiftly pass H.B. 2515.

In a hsus propaganda release submitted by The Humane Society on Aug 7, 2012

The HSUS assisted law enforcement in seizing the animals and transporting them away from the scene. Experts from The HSUS were on hand to help identify and document evidence and coordinate the rescue effort. Washington County CART also assisted in handling and transporting the game fowl. The U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Office of the Inspector General assisted the state police with this investigation.

What evidence and rescue there was nothing going on according to reports.

We found more than 90 gamecocks who were bred to fight to the death with knives tied to their legs,? said Sarah Speed, Pennsylvania state director for The HSUS.

How Does this woman know what these birds are for, No birds were found fighting, no reports of mistreatment.

“The Humane Society of the United States commends the Pennsylvania State Police, USDA, Washington County CART and District Attorney Eugene Vittone for their quick and efficient action to shut down this cockfighting operation”.

What Operation a 75? year old man raising Gamefowl that’s not against the law!!!!!!!

We urge state legislators to swiftly pass H.B. 2515, which would provide the additional tools law enforcement needs to combat this kind of animal cruelty.?

 Heres what’s really going on.

This search is an important first step in rooting out this barbaric and inhumane activity and in putting a stop to the illegal gambling that takes place at such events,? said Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone.

What barbaric and inhumane activity, what illegal gambling, what events. They found this man doing nothing wrong.

We are grateful for the assistance and expertise of The Humane Society of the United States and Washington County CART in this case.?

What expertise, the stealing of a man’s lively hood, heritage, his birds, ripping a person’s life apart, turning our law enforcement into puppets, taking away private property rights.

Rep. Todd Stephens, R-Montgomery, has introduced legislation to help the law enforcement community combat animal fighting in the Commonwealth. Currently, animal fighting is a felony offense in Pennsylvania, but there are no prohibitions on possessing the equipment used for animal fighting. H.B. 2515 will prohibit anyone from possessing equipment or implements if they are used for animal fighting. There are major distributors of the knives that make cockfights bloodier and of the stimulants that make animals more aggressive. These apparatus serve one purpose, to support and sustain illegal animal fights.

Owning Books, Videos, Scales, medicines, vitamins, a rooster yard, pickle barrels,  3-foot-high white canvas teepees, fly pens, cutting a rooster’s comb or spurs, and even owning a set of gaffs or a knife does not mean anything. These types of laws are useless and just invade your right to privacy.  Trying to pass these laws Wastes money and time that could be used to help HUMANS. How stupid is it to try and make something that is already against the law against the law.

PLEASE SIR GET A LAWYER AND SUE ALL OF THEM

Congressman Steve King needs our support

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 4, 2012

Iowa congressman Steve King Stood up to the Animal Rights agenda and is now being attacked

Congressman Steve King (R-IA) had this to say about the Vitter amendment during a tele-townhall last month, King stated

“It’s wrong to rate animals above human beings,” he told a questioner. King went on to argue “there’s something wrong with society to make it a federal crime to watch animals fight, but it’s not a federal crime to induce somebody to watch people fighting there’s something wrong with the priorities of people that think like that.”

Abraham Lincoln said basically the same thing.

“As long as the Almighty has permitted intelligent men, created in his likeness, to fight in public and kill each other while the world looks on approvingly, it’s not for me to deprive the chickens of the same privilege.”

King went on to state, “Animals have more rights than fetuses,” and suggests that “liberals have so devalued life, that a man can rape a young girl, kidnap her, force her to undergo an abortion across state lines, and then drop her off at the swing set and that’s not against the law in the United States of America.”

look at what he said

1. It’s wrong to rate animals above human beings

 2. there’s something wrong with society to make it a federal crime to watch animals fight, but it’s not a federal crime to induce somebody to watch people fighting there’s something wrong with the priorities of people that think like that.”

 3. Animals have more rights than fetuses

4. “liberals have so devalued life, that a man can rape a young girl, kidnap her, force her to undergo an abortion across state lines, and then drop her off at the swing set and that’s not against the law in the United States of America.”

Sounds to me like the HSUS and other animal rights groups meet someone that did not kiss their butts and puts human life above animals.  Congressman Steve King needs our support he is fighting the hsus and other groups that want to ban Hunting, Trapping, Fishing, Farming, Horse and dog racing, pet ownership, and eating meat.  These groups have cost the animal owners millions fighting their animal rights agenda.  If he bows down to the Hsus because of lack of support we all lose. Nowhere did he say make dog fighting legal he just said humans should come first.

UNCLE BUD II

Posted by gamecocksunlimited on August 1, 2012

From “Stars and Stripes” Mediterranean Edition, Rome, January 30. 1945:

WITH THE 57TH FIGHTER GROUP – Uncle Bud II came home today, the gift of Hal P. Monahan Sr. of Lake Placid, NY, in memory of his son who was killed fighting with the “Fighting Cocks” In December 1943.

Like his predecessor Uncle Bud is cocky, ill-tempered, fighting son-of-a-gun of a rooster and that’s the way the boys like him.

When Col. Phil Cochran, former commander of the “Fighting Cock” Squadron asked Milt Caniff, creator of “Terry & The Pirates,” to design the original Uncle Bud, he said, “I don’t care what you come up with, Milt, just so long as he’s a fighting son of a gun.”

Caniff chose the rooster, and Uncle Bud the First came overseas with the squadron and followed it from the hectic days of the North African campaign until he was killed by a jeep last September.  Lt. Col. Gilbert O. Wymond of Detroit, the squadron’s present commander, wrote to Caniff and asked him to assist in finding a replacement.

Caniff passed the plea along to the readers of his comic strip and from thousands of replies received, he chose that of Monahan Sr., who asked that he be allowed to sponsor the rooster in memory of his son.

Republic Aviation Corp., who’s P-47’s the “Fighting Cocks” fly in combat, obtained the rooster and at a midafternoon ceremony during the employees’ rest period, Monahan presented the bird to Captains Ray Donahue, Jr. of Pittsburgh, and James Eubanks of Bronte, Texas, two members of the squadron home on 30 day leave.

The fliers smuggled Uncle Bud II on board ship by hiding him under their coats. He shared their cabin and got his first taste of army chow- C rations and fruit, which the officers managed to scrounge.

Uncle Bud II has already proved himself a “Fighting Cock.”  His first official act upon being uncrated was to rout a pet dog from the kitchen.

At the officers club, he was introduced to Uncle Bud I, formerly believed by members of the squadron to be the “meanest rooster alive”, mounted in a fighting pose in a glass cage. The new arrival immediately lashed out at the intruder with his long spurs and had to be pulled away from the glass.

Said one pilot, “He’s even meaner than Old Bud himself. He’ll do.”
